Kenneth Thomas, Ph.D., today's leading CRA expert, is a finance lecturer at the Wharton School, where he received his Ph.D. in finance and has taught since 1970. Dr. Thomas, based in Miami, has been an independent consultant to hundreds of banks and thrifts since 1975. He has also given congressional testimony and advised regulators on the new CRA, was the keynote speaker at the first major Consumer Compliance Conference of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), and is author of the award-winning book Community Reinvestment Performance. Many of that book's recommendations have been directly implemented in the new CRA. Because of his invaluable assistance to community, fair housing, and related advocacy groups, Dr. Thomas received a 1993 "Award of Excellence" from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. | |
